The government of Maharashtra has entrusted to the authority the development of, maintenance of and management of State highways and major district roads of Maharashtra State.

The authority in anticipation of growth in traffic volume has undertaken existing roads in the State of Maharashtra for improvements on Hybrid Annuity Basis.
